How I work
Good portraits start long before the camera comes out. We have a proper chat first about what the pictures are for and who will see them. On the day I guide you through poses and lighting so you're never left wondering what to do with your hands. You get a relaxed session, a good variety of looks, and a gallery you'll actually want to use.
Away from the portrait work
I also run Proper Tog, a place for photographers who are tired of gear snobbery and technical waffle. It started in the studio, where I kept watching good photographers overthink things that needed one simple move, often just moving the light rather than turning up the power. A few photographer mates chip in, and it has grown into guides, books and a free starting point called the Proper Tog Reset.
